TOPIC:  Cessation of Practice and Success Planning

SPEAKER:  Dean Schaffer, Succession Planning Program Administrator, State Bar of Texas

Dean Schaffer joined the State Bar of Texas staff with 29 years of experience in trials, appeals, and outside general counseling.  As special projects counsel for the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, he received a State Bar Presidential Citation for creating and implementing the Cessation of Practice Pilot Program. Dean is the founding administrator of the State Bar of Texas Succession Planning Program and was a lead contributor to the Succession Planning Toolkit. Dean is a member of the Texas Bar College, a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a Life Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation.
