Immigration Law Primer 2022
Immigration attorney, Ann Massey Badmus, will provide a high-level understanding of the U.S. immigration system, its core agencies, and the intricacies of its visa options. We will cover:
- key statutes, regulations, and fundamental concepts of immigration and nationality law involved in the U.S. immigration system.
- an overview of applicable government agencies that administer immigration law, sources of law and practice
- essential concepts such as non-immigrant versus immigrant visas, temporary visas, inadmissibility, removability, and what it means for a foreign national to be “out of status” or “unlawfully present” in the U.S.
- Basics of family-based and employment-based immigration options
