ESTATE PLANNING/PROBATE SECTION VIRTUAL MEETING
MAY 14, NOON
SPEAKER: Charles Kramer
TOPIC: What's Legal vs. Insurable
Charles Kramer of Hunter & Kramer, P.C. will present on “Real Estate Transactions and Probate: What’s Legal v. What’s Insurable.” Mr. Kramer will discuss the differences that may exist between legal standards and underwriting standards when it comes to closing and insuring sales out of decedent's estates, sales through trusts and powers of attorney, and sales of intestate estates through affidavits of heirship, as well as title issues involved in Lady Bird Deeds and Transfer on Death Deeds. Mr. Kramer will focus on how to prevent surprises at the closing table and additional trips to the courthouse that could otherwise be avoided by advance knowledge of how title underwriters view sales of real property through estate proceedings or through fiduciaries.
