ESTATE PLANNING/PROBATE SECTION VIRTUAL MEETING

FEBRUARY 12, NOON

TOPIC: Social Security Programs

Adrianne Grace will give an overview of the Social Security programs and discuss specific rules relevant to the Estate Planner, Probate, and Guardianship Attorney's practice.

Adriane Grace is an attorney practicing Social Security law in the Dallas, Texas area. She has been in practice for over 10 years and is licensed in Virginia and Texas. Ms. Grace is well-versed in federal administrative law and regulatory practice, which she studied in law school at American University in Washington, DC. Ms. Grace first gained extensive knowledge and experience with complex Social Security disability law as an attorney to the Social Security Administration. While at the agency, she initially advised Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) and wrote disability decisions at a national adjudication center. She was later promoted to the role of Attorney-Advisor to the Chief Administrative Appeals Judge for the Office of Appellate Operations where she reviewed ALJ decisions and advised the Appeals Council  on whether to deny an appeal, approve a claim, or remand the case to the ALJ for further review. Having reviewed countless claims for Social Security disability benefits and seen first-hand how SSA decided those claims, Ms. Grace can quickly analyze the favorability of any claim. Her current practice also includes a focus on Wills/Trusts, Elder law, and special needs as she also devotes over half her practice to Probate and Guardianship matters. Ms. Grace's Social Security appeals practice is very selective, but she is also happy to serve as consultant/advisor to other attorneys on Social Security issues and takes great pride in this social justice work.
