“The Opioid Epidemic: What Employers Can Do About It and Why They Should”
Description: A 2009 National Safety Council comprehensive report on opioids in the workplace revealed that employer-sponsored and monitored treatment yields better sustained recovery rates than treatment initiated at the request of friends and family members. Yet, employers are still overwhelmingly operating on drug-testing policies that automatically terminate employees who fail the company’s drug test. This presentation discusses developments in drug testing policies addressing these realities.
